Almeda - How We Operate

Almeda Environmental Services Ltd provides water treatment and ventilation hygiene services to the building services, manufacturing and process industries.

Ventilation Hygiene / Kitchen Extract Cleaning

Almeda carry out all procedures in accordance with current Approved Codes of Practice such as HVCA TR19 (TR 17), food safety standards and CIBSE TM 26. All of our engineers are safety passport trained and have a wealth of knowledge.

Almeda can carry out a full deep clean of existing kitchens to include walls/ceilings and floor. Degrease/sanitise kitchen equipment/tables and surfaces. Almeda also degrease/sanitise existing canopies and duct. In addition to existing kitchens Almeda can also carry out a sanitization of new build kitchen ready for food preparation.

The only way to achieve a quality result from cleaning ductwork or extract is to utilise a combination of methods, air blast, rotary brush, vacuum, scrape, etc. As in many cases, use of only one method is insufficient to meet the standards as required by regulations. All materials collected will be disposed of and a waste transfer note given were appropriate

Water Hygiene / Legionella Control

Commercial Water Management

Water storage and distribution systems are ever increasingly health related management's responsibility throughout commercial buildings. Professionally designed and proficiently managed water analysis and treatment programmes, designed to protect building occupants from potential legionella or microbiological risk, are therefore given a universally applied management priority.

The Almeda Environmental Services team has a wealth of experience in risk management, monitoring and control programmes, ensuring that the modern building manager continues to comply with all developing regulations at all times.

Legionella Risk Assessment

Further to the publication of the code of practice from the Health & Safety Commission, Almeda are able to offer a full water hygiene risk assessment of any given building to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 and the Health and Safety Commission’s Approved Code of Practice & Guidance (L8) document 2001.

Cooling Tower Water Treatment

Almeda's complete water treatment programmes are designed to prevent scale, corrosion, suspended solids and microbiological fouling by determining the correct treatment methods for the local conditions. Our range of products for cooling tower condenser water applications has been increased with new products, specifically designed to give outstanding performance, control and flexibility in choice of application.

Bacteriological Analysis

At Almeda, we offer a full range of analysis from Legionella identification to a full bacteriological report detailing potable quality to EC Guideline (80/778 EC). All samples will be analysed in accordance with recognised test methods and by UKAS accredited laboratories.

Service

In accordance with the Almeda ISO 9001 Quality Management System, we place great emphasis on the service aspect of a water treatment programme. Regular service visits ensure that commercial plant is benefiting from the tailored water treatment programme, operating efficiently and receiving the correct application of treatment chemicals in the most economical manner. On site fully trained representatives, using standard titration and photometric/colourmetric techniques, will undertake analysis and monitoring of our water treatment programmes. A complete range of test kits for site use is available together with site training.

Logbook

A detailed Cooling Tower & Domestic Water Services Record File to conform to the requirements of the HSE Approved Code of Practice & Guidance (L8) document and the Environmental Health Office, is placed on site, which will ensure compliance with all Statutory Guidelines for record keeping.

Leisure Industry

Almeda are able to offer a full water hygiene risk assessment, bacteriological sampling (TVC, PsAg and LP), balance tank cleaning, shower-head cleaning and water chemistry. Almeda comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002, the Health and Safety Commission's Approved Code of Practice & Guidance (L8) document 2001, PWTAG – Treatment and Water Quality for Pools and Spas 2009 and HPA Management of Spa pools 2006.
