Here at Almeda, we like to get out into the local community and give something back. We feel that it’s a great way of enabling staff to gain a deeper understanding of the communities they work alongside, as well as their associated challenges. They are only too pleased to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into projects that they, and Almeda as a whole, feel passionate about.
Our work also brings communities together, encouraging the promotion and discussion of new ideas and possibilities for the greater good.
Projects we are currently supporting:
Inner Flame – Inner Flame run courses for 16-25 year olds to help them develop the essential skills required for both independent life and work, working closely with the Prince’s Trust.
LinkAge Bristol – LinkAge works with people 55+ and local communities to facilitate inspiring social activities that enrich lives, reduce isolation and loneliness and promote active participation.
Happy City – Happy City exists to demonstrate that being happier needn’t cost the earth. The world needs a new story: less ‘stuff for stuff’s sake’ and more ‘life for life’s sake’ www.happycity.org.uk
